A Hobby Gone Out of Control

After years in the making, Frankfort KY's own 610 Barbecue & Burgoo Team LLC was actually born in early spring, 2002, at the International Barbecue Festival in Owensboro KY.

Our idea was to take our collective, hobby-level barbecuing skills and experiences out on the road, just for fun. We could meet interesting folks, see some sights, hob-knob with other fine BBQ-ers and peddle our wares to BBQ afficienados throughout the region.

And maybe -- just maybe -- we could win some ribbons!

We also wanted to make sure our group "hobby" remained a passionate pasttime, never becoming like work, so we agreed to limit the number of competitions, festivals and catering contracts in which we would participate each season. We do NOT cook full-time; heck, except for a couple of 'retired' team members, we all have real jobs!

Neither is the 610 Barbecue & Burgoo Team LLC a full-time catering operation. The catering component of our little operation has exploded on us (Thank You!) and we love it! We cater 'selected' events for fun and as a means of earning a few extra drachmas for travel expenses and entry fees.

Folks often ask, "Where is your restaurant?" Well...there ain't one. We barbecue at your place.
